Marc Gene set the fastest time during the opening day of testing at the Catalunya circuit outside of Barcelona. Gene worked on an endurance run while Luca Badoer joined him on track, developing new parts for the 248 F1.

Marc Gene ran 100 laps before his car gave up on the final lap of the day. Gene set a fastest time of 1′16.122. Badoer completed 98 laps with a quickest time of 01′16.391. This was good enough for the third fastest time of the day, behind Gene and Rosberg. Badoer was however quicker than Karthikeyan, Klien, Jani and Coulthard.

Ferrari continues testing here tomorrow with Marc Gene and Felipe Massa.
